I have a gluten allergy. I understand xylitol is gluten free, but what about your black licorice flavored Ice Chips? Almost all licorice candies have wheat in them, does yours? (Wheat = gluten)

thanks

The Grannies Thursday, November 21, 2013 10:53 AM
Sommer;

We are glad to report that all 19 of our Ice Chips Candy flavors are Gluten free including our Licorice.

There are currently a number of Gluten Free Licorice candies available.

One that we are fond of is Chateau D'Lanz Swiss Licorice.

Are you aware of the adverse effects of xylitol on dogs? It is highly lethal. Please, please add this caution to your packaging information and your website. I know someone whose dog nearly died from eating gum sweetened with xylitol.

Judy;

Obviously you are an animal lover and are genuinely concerned with the well-being of our canine friends.

We here at Ice Chips Candy are also animal lovers and are extremely aware of the cautions that apply to Xylitol in regards to dogs.

Because of our concern we have always posted a caution on all our product pages as well on all of our packaging. Our caution reads as follows: “Toxic to dogs and small animals.”

I assume that you are bringing this to our attention because of your genuine concern for the protection of canine health. I also assume that you have not yet examined our product pages or packaging.

We applaud your efforts and encourage you to keep up the good work. But rest assured that we also share your concern and make that information readily available to all of our customers.

Have you any research on the effects of your candy particularly your xylitol formulation on type two diabetics? Is your xylitol product low glycemic index?

The Grannies Monday, November 18, 2013 12:18 PM
Devora;

That is a great question and one that needs to be addressed often.

Many studies have been conducted on the effects of Xylitol in relationship to both, Dental health and its safety to diabetics.

Xylitol is very low on the glycemic index and is absorbed more slowly than sugar, it does not contribute to high blood sugar levels or the resulting hyperglycemia caused by insufficient insulin response.

You can find out more at http://www.xylitol.org/questions-about-xylitol

Thank you again for your insightful question.

I am also a dental office manager in Seattle. I also am curious about getting small packages of the ice chips for handouts in the office - we used to use Trident gum, which also had xylitol but it became too cost prohibitive. Can you offer any info on whether you will have this available for dental offices??? They are great!

I am a dental office practice manager and was wanting to inquire about "purse size" container options. We would like to give these to patients with handouts and wanted to know if there are tiny containers available and then if that would have wholesale pricing options. We are getting great feedback from patients! Wonderful to offer a healthy option....All Out best, LEE @ Distinctive Dental Care, Lincoln, Nebraska

I'd like to know how much caffeine is in the coffee and cream candy.

The Grannies Monday, November 18, 2013 01:04 PM
Trina;
The amount of Caffeine in our Coffee and Cream flavored Ice Chips Candy is so small that our lab can’t even rate it as a trace.
I’m not sure as to how small it has to be to be less than a trace but the caffeine content is basically zero.
Thank you for your question.

How do you ship? USPS, UPS or Fed Ex? Couldn't find this information on website. I have a PO Box, so depending on who you ship through, depends what address I give.
Thanks!

where can I buy what stores

The Grannies Monday, November 18, 2013 11:10 AM
Shirley;
Thank you for your interest in Ice Chips Candy. The most obvious answer to your question is that you can buy Ice Chips right here on this web site and shipping is free to customers in the United States. But we do have a few thousand locations that you can discover by using our Store Locator page.

In the upper left hand corner or our web-site is a gold colored button that says Store Locator, click on that button. After you come to the next page you can type in your City or Zip code. Click the Blue Search button and you should see any stores or Dental offices within 15 miles of your location.

You can expand the search if you need to include a larger area.

Thank you for your question and I hope this helps.
